Xerox Workflow Central Provides New Workflow-Automation, Digitization Tools

Xerox today announced Xerox Workflow Central, a secure, cloud-based software platform that provides new workflow automation and digitization tools. These tools include translating documents into different languages, converting handwritten notes into editable text documents, converting digital files into different formats, and more.

Through Xerox’s ConnectKey technology, Xerox Workflow Central is said to make it easy to convert documents from any PC, tablet, mobile device, or printer/MFP. Both paper and digital documents can be altered instantly from one platform for use consistency, regardless of device. The solution is hosted on the secure Microsoft Azure platform, which includes security at every level, including encryption and password-protection services.

Xerox Workflow Central is available at various levels through a subscription model that comes with unlimited users and devices. The starter level provides access to the platform’s core capabilities, while advanced options provide the ability to combine and create custom workflows, routing to cloud-hosted repositories, and encrypting and tracking of emails and attachments.

Core capabilities include the ability to:

  • Turn handwriting into legible, editable and shareable text.
  • Translate to and from over 40 different languages.
  • Convert PDF or image files into popular Microsoft Office formats, like Word.
  • Automatically redact chosen and/or sensitive information.
  • Convert documents into audio files for accessibility and easy listening.
  • Merge and combine files or insert one document into another.
  • Summarize main points of a lengthy article or report with an abridged version.

Users can select from over 10 pre-set combination workflows that link workflows together, including:

  • Translate + Summarize
  • Merge + Audio
  • Merge + Summarize + Audio

They may also choose their output, including: email, download, or print from an MFP, or route to cloud document repositories.

For security, users may encrypt and track emails, and add passwords to documents. Data is encrypted at rest and when being transmitted.

Opportunity for Document-Workflow Solutions

Xerox also noted that a recent survey conducted by Morning Consult for Xerox found that 81 percent of small and mid-size businesses are more reliant on innovation to get work done, providing an opportunity for solutions-based companies like Xerox.

The company also noted that global organizations, such as Aspen Pharmacare, are using Xerox Workflow Central to send and share documents that need to be translated when working across languages and countries. The firm says the solution’s accurate, quick and reliable translations are currently helping Aspen employees process documents faster, no matter their location.
