This Week in Imaging: Who’s Hiring Who?

One measure of a company’s health is often whether it’s hiring (or laying off), while an indicator of where it’s going is often who it’s hiring. This week was notable for several reasons on the hiring front, first with news that former Xerox CEO Jeff Jacobson, a casualty of one of the most contentious, bitter company proxy wars in a long time, had been appointed CEO of production-print powerhouse Electronics for Imaging (EFI).

Meanwhile, this summer, Memjet has been making a number of key hires, with executives drawn from the likes of HP, Xeikon, and other print companies.

Not to be forgotten is Epson America, which has made a number of key executive hires indicating a  focus on growing its dealer channel, hiring Joseph Contreras, an executive formerly with Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS), and Mark Mathews (former president and CEO of TABS). In April, Epson also announced a “strategic initiative focusing on the recruitment of seasoned channel leaders,” announcing it had hired Eric Wederbrand, former vice president of product management at SYNNEX, and Scott Blitz, former president at Arizona Office Technologies, a Xerox company, with both executives joining Epson as Epson WorkForce Enterprise and Business Inkjet products regional sales managers.
