This Week in Imaging: ‘When in Doubt, Hit Print’
This week we were in court for a routine matter, and one thing that struck us was how much lawyers print. Not just a few pages, but stacks and stacks, carried around in bags the size of overnight bags. In many high-profile cases, you may also see assistants wheeling in boxes of printed documents. While many jurisdictions accept electronic submissions, the mindset still seems to be “when in doubt, hit print.” And of course, those print-outs are in legal-size format, and are charged to the client.
So while we in the office-imaging industry have become used to the idea that office print volumes are steadily declining – and they are – printing is still quite the norm in some sectors and isn’t going to go away for some time.
