Device Management:

  • Compatibility with OKI Data’s PrintSuperVision (PSV) Professional Edition designed for small and mid-size businesses that wish to proactively manage print and copy devices from OKI Data and all other vendor devices that support Public MIB standard RFC 3805. PrintSuperVision can run as a server-based or local Microsoft Windows-based application.

User Management and Print Accounting:

  • OKI Job Accounting Software provides the ability to track counts for color and mono pages, the types and quantities of paper used, and a record of printing activity by department. OKI Job Accounting Software enables tracking of color-printing costs, plus easy monitoring and control of print usage. Used with the OKI Digital LED color printers, Microsoft Windows-based OKI Job Accounting Software helps contain costs by allowing only authorized users to print. Since job-control authentication is stored on the printer, not on the network, the system cannot be bypassed and is, therefore, totally secure.

Conclusion

There are few if any printers available that can do what the OKI C941dn can do with its on-board white and clear spot-color units. Moreover, it can easily handle a virtually unprecedented range of media sizes, weights, and types of cut-sheet substrates. It also provides the print quality, media sources, print speed, cost of operation, and total cost of ownership that makes it extremely attractive to commercial graphic artists and print-for-pay shops that need the ability to quickly provide cutting-edge prints, and that provide a value-added service. Moreover, shops already providing advanced printing services can use the C9410dn’s ability to print on colored stock using white and clear toners to save on both printing costs and the cost of any necessary post-processing costs for short-run print productions.

Should you get one? The answer is that given the C941dn’s advanced capabilities, every print boutique, graphic-design studio, or production-printing facility should own at least one. Keep in mind that unlike virtually any competitive product with these advanced capabilities, this versatile digital color printer is fast and economical enough that it can be used for any other common office-printing chore as well.

The C911dn can be purchased at OKI Data’s Web site for $3,699. Contact your local OKI Data dealer for pricing on the C931dn and the C941dn with its five developing units. OKI Data states that the ISO color cost per page is an economical $0.0756.
