Report and Video: Brother’s MFC-J4510DW Color Inkjet All-in-One with 11″x17″ Printing

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWirth Consulting has just completed a Hands-On Test Report for Brother’s MFC-J4510DW Business Smart Inkjet All-in-One. What sets this this color inkjet apart from most color inkjet All-in-Ones is that users can print on media up to 11″x17″ via a manual feed slot  located on the back of the unit. It also features several business-class features:

  • With Secure Function Lock, administrators can require up to 10 users to enter credentials in order to allow or restrict access to various functions (such as color printing), and also track and limit the number of pages a user can produce.
  • The MFC-J4510DW is compatible with Bother’s BRAdmin Light, as well as BRAdmin Professional 3 network printer-management solutions for network printers. The former solution is used for the management of Brother devices, while the latter is for more advanced management of Brother networked and most other SNMP networked printing devices. A Driver Deployment Tool is also available.
  • Users can scan and send scanned documents to FTP sites and network folders, as well as cloud-based document storage sites.

The large touch panel features a generously sized 3.7″ color touch screen that’s operated via swiping. There’s also support for mobile and remote printing via: Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Cortado Workplace, as well as a Brother iPrint&Scan app for mobile print and scan, and Wi-Fi Direct mobile printing.

While overall the MFC-J4510DW  performed well in our tests, we did hit a few bumps in our tests every now and then. And while the 11″x17″ printing is a boon for users who occasionally print on this media size, there are some things that you definitely need to know beforehand.
