Review and Videos: Raising the Bar for Workgroup Color Printing – Lexmark’s New C748 Series
We’ve just completed Hands-On Testing of Lexmark’s new C748 color laser-printer series, which brings the advanced, enterprise-ready capabilities of Lexmark’s faster, higher-volume C792 color-laser printers to mid-range users, and which start at $999.00.
In our Hands-On Test Report, we took a hard look at our tested C748de from start to finish – from network installation, to image quality, print productivity, and using Lexmark Solutions enabled at the color touch screen, including setting up and using the Forms & Favorites Solution for print-on-demand from the touch screen. A gallery of photos taken during testing is available here.
The tested Lexmark C748de is an A4 35/35-ppm color laser printer that’s part of the firm’s new C748 Series. It replaces the C734 Series, and adds more memory (512 MB), a 4.3” full-color touch screen, embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) and several standard Lexmark Solutions, as well as card-reader support, and 20-percent lower color toner costs. Three configurations are available: the C748e ($999.00) with simplex-only printing, C748de ($1,199.00), which adds duplex printing (tested configuration), and C748dte ($1,499), with duplex printing and second 550-sheet paper drawer.
