PrinterOn Settles Patent-Infringement Settlement with Uniguest, Also Plans on Long-Term Business Relationship with Uniguest

PrinterOn and Uniguest have announced that they’ve reached a global settlement that includes the dismissal of PrinterOn’s current lawsuit against Uniguest. PrinterOn also says it’s planning for a long-term business relationship with Uniguest. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

As we reported in October 2013, PrinterOn, a Canadian company that markets wireless mobile-printing solutions, filed a patent-infringement lawsuit against competitor BreezyPrint and its contracted provider Uniguest in Texas federal court. PrinterOn alleged that both companies of knowingly infringing upon PrinterOn’s cloud-based wireless mobile-printing and management-technology patents.

PrinterOn says its mobile printing solution is deployed in over 50 countries and enables users to securely print from any smartphone, tablet, or laptop to printers at over 10,000 PrinterOn locations.

PrinterOn’s lawsuit alleged that Uniguest willfully infringed upon four PrinterOn patents protecting network-resource access systems and control systems. The patents in question are United States Patents No. 6,990,527, No. 7,007,093, No. 7,249,188, and No. 7,827,293, collectively known as the “PrinterOn Patents.”
