Expanding Atlanta Operations, NovaCopy Purchases Service Technologies’ Copier Division
NovaCopy, a Nashville-based provider of managed IT and printer services, has purchased the copier/printer division of Service Technologies, a 20-year Konica Minolta dealership in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, area for an undisclosed sum.
“We are excited at the opportunity to provide NovaCopy’s award-winning service, state-of-the-art solutions and comprehensive customer care to even more of the greater Atlanta business community,” said NovaCopy CEO Darren Metz. “As an operational business entity, Service Technologies has filed an assignment for Benefit of Creditors and is shuttering its operations. In the transaction, NovaCopy did not assume the liabilities of Service Technologies, but will continue providing service and supplies to its customers.”
A provider offering on-site and remote support of network infrastructure and peripherals, NovaCopy was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States with 12 branches throughout the South and revenues of $80 million.
In the Assignment for Benefit of Creditors transaction, NovaCopy purchased certain Service Technologies assets, including the copier/printer division, and customer list and is employing most of its staff.
“Customer satisfaction is very important to NovaCopy and it is our goal to retain, and grow, the relationships that have already been created,” said Benny Malicoat, NovaCopy’s GA & East TN District vice president. “We truly believe it is essential to have Service Technologies’ team on board to help make this a success.”
Founded in 1998 in Memphis before moving its headquarters to Nashville in 2004, NovaCopy is continuing with plans to expand its footprint throughout the United States’ southern region. This transaction follows four acquisitions within the past 12 months. The acquired companies include: PBMIT Business Solutions in Knoxville, Tennessee; South Mississippi Business Machines in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; CSS Document Solutions in Meridian, Tennessee; and Kopier Net. NovaCopy’s Kopier Net acquisition, completed four weeks ago, was also located in the greater Atlanta area.
