New RICOH Pro C7200 Series with Invisible Printing
Ricoh USA today announced the availability of its new color sheet-fed production-printer series, the RICOH Pro C7200 series, which features Graphic Arts Edition and fifth color station models.
The new Pro C7200 series features in-line sensors and calibration for better front-to-back registration and color consistency without the need for specialized training. Built on the RICOH Pro C7100X, Ricoh says the new Pro C7210X and Pro C7210SX print five colors faster and more accurately while offering greater media flexibility.
Invisible Red Toner
The new Invisible Red Toner enables operators to produce printed designs that are only visible under ultraviolet light, making Invisible Red Toner suitable for security applications involved with printing event tickets and coupons, for instance. Ricoh says it’s a more affordable option versus more expensive hologram-printing.
Other Features
According to Ricoh, the Pro C7200 series prints at 2,400 x 4,800 dpi VCSEL image quality with a large color gamut without sacrificing print speed or media versatility. The two 85-ppm and 95-ppm models provide automatic duplexing, and each has the option to print on paper lengths up to 49.6″ in simplex mode, or 27.5″ in duplex mode. The platform also enables users to print white and cyan, magenta, yellow, black (CMYK) inks in a single pass. In-line sensors automatically aid improved front-to-back registration and color calibration.
The series can also print on substrates such as synthetics, window clings, and rich linens. A specially designed 17″ Smart Operation Panel allows users to browse and manage the Paper Library directly from the device. The larger panel also brings new job- and workflow-management options directly to the device, while also providing remote print-job management and monitoring.
John Fulena, vice president of Ricoh USA’s Commercial & Industrial Printing Business Group, commented:.”When the RICOH Pro C7100X series hit the market, it immediately changed the sheet-fed color landscape. It brought these incredible, high-end capabilities – five-color printing, synthetic and textured media, outstanding quality – to everyday, ‘Main Street’ printers. With the competition for attention at an all-time high, many printers need new ways to stand out without having to spend like the big guys. The Pro C7200 series is the only platform in its class that delivers the ability to produce unique applications with a 5th color station, large format sheets up to 49.6 inches, higher print speeds in a more intuitive and reliable platform. That’s what our customers asked for, and that’s what we delivered with the RICOH Pro C7200 series.”
All RICOH Pro C7200 series presses are ENERGY STAR-certified and carry an EPEAT Silver rating.
