New Compact, Space-Saving Epson Desktop Document Scanners

Epson America today introduced three new document scanners the DS-C330 (MSRP $329), DS-C480W (MSRP $419), and DS-C490 (MSRP $519) desktop document scanners, all of which feature a vertical paper feed system that help them save up to 60 percent of desk space.

The new DS-C330 and DS-C480W scan two-sided documents at up to 30 ppm/60 ipm, while the new DS-C490 scans two-sided documents at up to 40 ppm/80 ipm. The DS-C480W features wireless connectivity, and ScanWay standalone scanning that enables users to scan to a USB flash drive, e-mail, or the cloud using the scanner’s 2.4″ LCD touchscreen, with no computer needed.

All three scanners include a 20-page automatic document feeder for batch scanning. The DS-C330 scans papers of varying sizes up to 8.5″ x 120″, while the DS-C480W and DS-C490 scan documents of varying sizes up to 8.5″ x 220″.

With a flexible scan path, the scanners allow users to scan documents, receipts, cards, and more up to 8.5” x 11” in the vertical position and handle longer documents or thicker media including ID cards and passports in the reclined, straight-through position.

The scanners also include intelligent image adjustments such as automatic cropping and dirt detection. They’re equipped with Epson Document Capture Pro software, and TWAIN and ISIS scan drivers for integration with most document management systems.
