Marco Expands Footprint in Midwest, Now has 39 Locations in U.S.

marcoMarco, Inc., a U.S. digital-imaging services provider that has 36 locations throughout the Midwest, reports that it’s purchased Illinois Valley Business Equipment (IVBE), a copier and printer company with locations in Peru, Bloomington and Peoria, all in Illinois.

Marco says the purchase enables it to further expand its footprint nationally and provide technical services in the state of Illinois. This is the 11th acquisition that the company has completed over the past three years. In early September, Marco purchased Northeast Photocopy Company (NEP) in Appleton and Green Bay, both in Wisconsin.

Since 2003, the company has grown from 141 employees to over 810 employees and now has 39 locations nationally. Fifty-five percent of that growth has come through Marco’s existing customer base and forty-five percent has been through acquisitions.

Marco was founded in 1973 and is a 100-percent employee owned company. Marco serves customers nationally with offices in Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota, providing copiers/printers; business IT services; managed, hosted and cloud services; carrier services; phone systems; document management; and audio/video systems.

“Our acquisition strategy is to buy similar companies in locations where Marco doesn’t already have a presence,” commented Marco CEO Jeff Gau. “We look forward to continuing IVBE’s commitment to satisfying their clients and are excited about the expanded business IT services we can offer them.”

Illinois Valley Business Equipment has been in business for 44 years and serves over 1,500 customers. Their employees have joined the Marco team. “We have a 20 year relationship with Marco and have always viewed them as an outstanding partner,” said Scott Chatten, President of IVBE. “They will provide our employees opportunities for professional growth and our customers with outstanding service.”
