Marco Continues Expansion with Acquisition of Governor Business Solutions

Marco Technologies, which is based in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and markets copier/MFPs, printers, managed print services (MPS), and business IT services, announced this week today that it had purchased Governor Business Solutions, an HP reseller, for an undisclosed sum. Founded more than 39 years ago and recently awarded HP’s “U.S. Print Hardware Reseller of the Year,” Governor is a provider of MPS, wide-format printers, copier/MFPs, barcode, and A/V solutions, and is based in Michigan.

The company will continue to operate as Governor Business Solutions for a short time. Its employees have joined Marco and will be serving clients from their current headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

Marco says the purchase allows it to further expand its geographic footprint nationally, and provide technical services in the state of Michigan. This is the 11th acquisition that Marco has completed over the past two years.

“Our acquisition strategy is to buy similar companies in locations where Marco doesn’t already have a presence,” said Marco CEO Jeff Gau. “Governor was a perfect fit with their excellent reputation and long-term customer relationships in the Michigan market.”

Marco has 1,160 employees and serves more than 32,000 customers from its 49 locations throughout the Midwest and nationally.
