LG Introduces Tiny Pocket Photo 2.0 Mobile Printer with NFC and Bluetooth Connectivity
LG Electronics of South Korea will release the second generation of its Pocket Photo mobile printer, version 2.0, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Pocket Photo 2.0 features USB port, wireless tap-and-print NFC connectivity, as well as wireless Bluetooth connectivity. Users can print 2” x 3”, 313 dpi photos from most Android and Apple iOS tablets and smartphones. LG says it’s 4mm smaller in thickness than its predecessor – it measures 72.4 × 120.9 × 24.0 (mm), or approximately 2.8″x4.7″x1″.
Enhancements to the accompanying Pocket Photo app include new filter effects, and frame-augmentation, as well as the ability to embed QR codes in photos.
The Pocket Photo 2.0 is an ink-less printer – there isn’t any ink or toner to replace, but instead special paper from LG is used. Price should be approximately $249. The Pocket Photo 2.0 is currently available in China, and should be available in the United States in 2014.
