Kyocera Officially Enters Production-Printer Market
KYOCERA Document Solutions America today officially entered the production-printer market, announcing the TASKalfa 13600 Series, a series of production printing systems designed for commercial and in-house production that mark Kyocera’s entry into the monochrome, high-speed, high volume production-printer market.
“We’ve built an impeccable reputation with a wide range of businesses,” said Ed Bialecki, senior VP of Sales. “With these new production devices, we’re ready to serve an entirely new class of customers.”
The TASKalfa 13600, TASKalfa 11100, and TASKalfa 9600 monochrome MFPs provide print, copy, and scan, with print speeds of up to 136, 111, and 96 ppm respectively, and scan speed of up to 220 images per minute (ipm) in color across the board. The systems also feature 1,200 x 4,800 dpi resolution, granular toner particle size, accurate registration, and VSCEL Technology.
All three systems feature a 10.4” color touchscreen with animated guidance, and enhanced security features including data encryption, and user authentication. According to Bialecki, “They’re fast, they’re reliable, they’re secure, they’re designed for intense work environments. This is an exciting addition to our line-up.”
In particular, the systems are aimed at education, healthcare, government, legal, and finance vertical markets that are looking for cost-efficient production printing solutions with quick-turnaround times. Maximum monthly volume is 1 million pages.
“The advanced finishing options further elevate these devices,” commented Terry Knopsnyder, vice president of engineering. “Customers can opt for a 3,000-sheet stapler-finisher that can staple up to 100 sheets, or even a 2,500-sheet booklet finisher that can saddle-stitch 20-sheet booklets.”
The optional multiple fold unit can produce letter fold-in, letter fold-out, half-fold, gate-fold, z-fold, and double parallel. The dual-scan document processor comes standard on every model.
Media Versatility
The TASKalfa 13600 Series is said to support a wide range of media. The optional large capacity trays, vacuum feed trays, and multipurpose tray support thin, thick, heavy, NCR, pre-printed, textured, and coated stocks, up to 350 gsm and up to 13” x 19.2”. Each MFP comes with a standard paper capacity of 3,300 sheets, upgradeable to 12,650 sheets. The systems support media sizes up to 13″ x 19.2″.
This series features Kyocera’s Trained Customer Replaceable Units (TCRU) modular design system. End-users trained in TCRU can replace the most commonly accessed service items necessary to keep the system up and running, without service intervention, reducing maintenance costs.
The TASKalfa 13600 Series is available through authorized Kyocera dealers at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of:
- TASKalfa 13600: $66,499.00
- TASKalfa 11100: $55,499.00
- TASKalfa 9600: $44,499.00
