Kyocera Introduces New Smart Workplace Digital Assistant for Printing

Kyocera Document Solutions America has introduced MyQ Roger, a Smart Digital Workplace Assistant for printing that’s said to ease the challenges of the hybrid workplace and mobile users.

Once the MyQ Roger software is installed on chosen Kyocera printing devices, organizations can print and scan with the free MyQ Roger mobile app for Android and iOS smartphones. Users can also browse their cloud folders and preview files at OneDrive, Google Drive, etc., both on their smartphones and on the printer’s touchscreen.

MyQ Roger can also be installed on Chromebooks for advanced printing, and it’s Universal Print Compatible for submitting print jobs directly in the Microsoft 365 environment.

Other features include:

Personalized workflows – Set up scanning workflows by choosing features such as print or scan parameters, name labels, and colors.

Contactless Remote Device Control – Control the MFP directly from smartphones using the MyQ Roger mobile app and scanning the QR code on the MFP’s panel.

Security – Files are protected by multiple security checkpoints such as biometric authentication and data encryption.

Public cloud platform – MyQ Roger can be deployed by the customer’s IT team in a matter of minutes and the app is said to provide a modern intuitive interface.

No hidden PC Agents – MyQ Roger takes care of everything on its own and doesn’t burden the customer’s computing infrastructure.

Software as a Service (SAAS) – Businesses can easily scale up or downscale the MyQ Roger service according to their needs.

Scan and OCR with phone cameras – Take a picture of a document with a smartphone phone, and then edit and crop before sending the searchable PDF to cloud services.

How It Works

MyQ Roger is hosted completely in the Microsoft Azure public cloud, so there’s no need to buy and maintain any additional print infrastructure. All customers need to do is set up a monthly subscription based on their number of connected MFPs

It’s also fully scalable for unlimited devices and users. Customers pay for every MFP running the MyQ Roger app and nothing more. The number of users using isn’t limited – users just need to install the MyQ Roger app on their smartphones, add them to the business database, and they are all set for cloud-based printing and scanning.

Kyocera says MyQ Roger is suitable for SMBs as well as large enterprises, local governments, and education organizations. It doesn’t matter how many devices there are in the fleet, or how many users are using it at any given moment.
