Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Xerox Win MPS Contracts with Canadian Government

 Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) reported on September 17th that it’s one of three vendors who will deliver managed print services (MPS), software solutions, and fleet management to the government of Canada.

The firm says it was selected based on its ability to meet the MPS model that Shared Services Canada (SSC) has established for all departments and agencies. Konica Minolta met the security requirements from a facility, product, and personnel perspective as part of the evolving IT security requirements for government.

SSC, the government department responsible for delivering digital services to government of Canada organizations, announced the new agreements with Konica Minolta, Xerox Canada, and Ricoh Canada Inc. in May. The six-year agreements are collectively worth an estimated $60 million annually.

“After an extensive engagement with Shared Services Canada, we’re excited to finally announce our partnership with the Government of Canada,” commented Chris Dewart, president and CEO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada). “Our print technology offers the most cutting-edge security, hardware, and software available on the market right now, and will serve to optimize the public service’s print operations.”

Konica Minolta says the SSC conducted extensive industry research, and that Konica Minolta was “shortlisted” from the 38 organizations that participated across Canada in the engagement process.
