Konica Minolta Launches Direct Sales in New Zealand
Konica Minolta Business Solutions is setting up a direct presence in New Zealand after rival Fuji Xerox purchased its former local partner, CSG, in February 2020.
Konica Minolta New Zealand will be led by managing director Eric Holtsmark, a former general manager at Konica Minolta Australia.
Back in June 2020, Konica Minolta partnered with Brother International after it lost CSG, appointing Brother as its new local A3 printer/MFP distributor.
As for CSG, now owned by Fuji Xerox, it traded under the Konica Minolta brand until 2017 but was bought by rival Fuji Xerox in a A$140 million deal in February 2020.
According to Print21, the new operation will give New Zealand printers access to the Konica Minolta digital label print range for the first time, and will also make Konica Minolta production printer available for the first time since 2017. The Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 label press will now be available to New Zealand printers for the first time, while its KM-1e digital B2 sheetfed inkjet press and its range of MGI digital embellishing systems will be added later.
