Kofax Introduces Power PDF 5, Plus New Mobile Application
Kofax, a supplier of Intelligent Automation software for digital workflow transformation (DX), today announced the newest version of its PDF-editing software, Power PDF 5. The firm says this is the most feature-rich release of the PDF editor since its inception, and also introduced Kofax Power PDF Mobile (see below).
Power PDF 5
This latest edition of Power PDF provides advanced document conversion using Kofax’s text recognition, as well as expanded integrations for e-signature workflows; collaboration with Kofax Power PDF Mobile; and support for the latest industry PDF standards .
According to Kofax, Power PDF 5 provides next-generation text recognition, as Kofax’s industry-best optical character recognition (OCR) engine is now tightly integrated with Power PDF 5. Extracting data from scanned documents and converting to PDF files is also said to be easy. Formatting and creating a fillable form are now also now precise.

Fuzzy Search
Enhanced search with proximal “fuzzy search,” which is unique to Kofax Power PDF. Fuzzy searc, helps users quickly find similar or relevant words and phrases. Legal departments, in particular, are now much more efficient when searching for terms to redact.
PDF/A-4 format
Version 5 includes added support for the PDF/A-4 format, the latest ISO standard for industry conformance and accessibility requirements. With this release, Kofax says it’s the only vendor at the forefront of PDF formatting, ensuring backward compatibility and removing the risk that features will be lost.
Extended Kofax SignDoc Integration
e-signature workflows expedite digital signatures without ever having to leave the PDF editor.
Cloud Capabilities
Power PDF 5’s cloud-based collaboration capabilities enable real-time teamwork globally with both hybrid remote workers and in-office workers. A new web-browser extension also allows teams to operate Power PDF within Chrome and Edge web browsers.
Security and Compliance
Authorization control and 256-bit AES encryption provide security and compliance across the most heavily regulated industries.
Kofax Power PDF Mobile
Kofax’s new Power PDF Mobile app enables users to view and work with PDF files with their smartphone or tablet. Users can sign documents remotely by drawing on the screen, and print and email PDF files right from their mobile device.
