On September 26th at the Graph Expo 2016 trade show currently being held in Orlando, Florida, HP Inc. announced four new 30″ HP PageWide Web Presses powered by HP High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) technology and its color inkjet-printing technology. The firm says the new commercial- and production-printing systems “provide high-quality color prints and enable print service providers (PSPs) to address a wider range of commercial printing applications, such as customized magazines, catalogs, and books.

“Print service providers continue to search for technology that gives them a competitive edge in a crowded market, seeking the ability to deliver end customers high-value offerings while also increasing profitability,” said Mike Salfity, global head and general manager of HP Inc.’s Graphics Solutions Business. “Today’s announcements demonstrate HP’s commitment to innovation that leads to immediate impact to our customers’ businesses.”

HP says its new HP PageWide Web Press T390 HD, T390M HD, T380 HD, and T370 HD represent the expansion of its HDNA technology throughout the HP PageWide Web Press portfolio, “enabling enhanced print quality, productivity, and versatility.”

The new presses will help print service providers transition from analogy offset presses to digital printing, and increase their range of applications, says HP.

The presses print at 500 feet per minute (fpm) in quality mode, and are designed for applications such as high-value customized publishing applications, such as producing color trade books, journals, retail catalogs, brochures, and marketing collateral “at any run length.”

HP says its HP Link Technology also “breaks down barriers” between the digital and physical worlds by embedding Internet-connected codes and invisible watermarks in printed collateral, such as customized text books, magazines, and instruction manuals.

Most recently, Toronto-based Webcom leveraged HP Link Technology, along with HP One Book workflow solution and its HP PageWide Web Press T360, to produce several hundred individually personalized versions of Unsquaring the Wheel, which makes its debut at Graph Expo 2016.

According to the firm, HP PageWide Web Press customers “are pushing the industry with ever-growing production inkjet-page volumes,” recently surpassing 180 billion pages printed since 2009. It says customers are now running more than five billion pages per month, up from four billion pages per month in 2015. An HP PageWide Web Press T360M customer recently broke a worldwide productivity record, producing 7.3 million pages in a day and more than 32 million pages in a week.

At Graph Expo 2016, HP is showing its full portfolio of new HP Indigo digital presses for general commercial printing, as well as large-format HP Latex and PageWide XL printers. Its booth also includes dedicated areas for PrintOS, services, HP SmartStream Mosaic, HP security solutions, and applications from leading customers and brands. Special pavilions, including The House That Print Built, will showcase the expanded capabilities of the new HP Latex 300 Printer series and HP Scitex technologies, as well as applications they enable, including printing décor, textiles, doors, stereo speakers, curtains, window blinds, and fabrics.
