How To Completely Remove Print Drivers From Your System – Windows 7


Click Start/Devices and Printers and highlight the printer you want to remove. Click the “Print server properties” button on the copy of the dialog.


Click on the “Drivers” tab.


Highlight the print driver that you wish to remove and click on the “Remove” button.


If you have two print drivers for a printer installed (e.g.: PCL and PostScript) and you only want to remove a single driver, click the “Remove driver only” radio button. Otherwise, click the “Remove driver and driver package” radio button to ensure that you get rid of all of the detritus.


Click “Yes.”


Click on “Delete” and you’re done. If you’ve previously clicked on  “Remove driver and driver package” and no package exists, the system will remove the print driver only, and  you’ll get an error message that you can ignore. Finally, make sure that you also remove any unused ports as shown in the instructions for removing Windows ports.
