Ease of Use
Ease-of-use from the control panel and touch screen, to print drivers and software is competitive. The control panel’s touch screen and touch panel are responsive, and print drivers and software, from Brother Utilities to Control Center 4, are generally easy to use, especially for users familiar with Brother printers. On the other hand, figuring out the ins and outs of the Nuance software suite takes a bit of practice and at times, it looks and feels like an add-on rather than integrated into the Brother software suite. Nonetheless, the Nuance software is feature rich and performs well.

The Brother MDC-J6925dw is easy to use. Its control panel is angle-adjustable and incorporates a 3.7″ color touch screen and touch panel on the right. Whenever necessary, a QWERTY-style keyboard appears on the touch screen for entering text. Note that the only hard key is the power button.

Above is the main touch screen. The touch screen is well-designed, accurate and easy to use. There are five sub-screens that can be swiped left or right. Additional screen navigation can be performed by touching the white “left” and right” navigation arrows.

Software
The included software is identical to that of recently tested Brother printers and scanners. This ensures easy training, use and support for those familiar with their operation.

The Brother MFC-J6925dw’s GDI print Driver has an interface that is identical to that of other contemporary Brother printers and AiOs. Note that media-type selection is comparatively limited and that printed output is front to rear unless the “Reverse Order” box is checked.

Control Center 4 (shown in Home Mode). This utility is used to initiate, manipulate, distribute, print and file scans and photos.
