Maintenance
Minimal maintenance is required. Users must only periodically replace pickup rollers and separation pads. Both of these items are easy to replace and are good for scanning up to 50,000 originals each, so they will only need to be replaced very infrequently. A roller and pad counter is also conveniently displayed each time the user clicks on the Status Monitor utility icon in the task bar.

Hardware and Software Installation
Hardware installation and setup is very simple and can be done in a matter of minutes. Software and network installation is via a installation utility. However, there is a lot of software installed during the rather balky process, and it took about 30 minutes. As this does not include the time it takes to program user permissions, shortcuts and destinations, total setup time will be longer.
