Epson Expands Voice-Activation for Consumer Printers
On February 19th, Epson America announced that it’s added voice-activated printing compatibility with Google Assistant and Siri. Epson EcoTank, WorkForce, and Expression printers are now compatible with three popular voice assistant platforms, including Amazon Alexa.
Epson first introduced voice-activated printing in November 2018 (see Epson EcoTank, WorkForce, Expression Models Now Feature Voice-Activated Printing). Other vendors with voice-activated solutions include Xerox (see New Xerox Voice Command Solution for Copy, Print, Scan, Service Calls), HP Inc. (see ‘Print My Calendar: HP Introduces Voice-Activated Printing), and Sharp (see Sharp is First Copier Provider Working with ‘Alexa for Business’ for Voice-Driven Copiers, More).
Epson printer users can now ask Google to print a variety of items, including graph paper and ruled paper, colorful designed paper for stationary and creative projects, scrapbooking embellishments, calendars, and seasonal designs.
With the Epson iPrint app, users can now also install convenient shortcuts on their iOS device to save steps when printing and scanning. For instance, users can take a photo and then ask Siri to print it. Users can also ask Siri to scan photos and documents with their phone, tablet or Epson printer. Siri can also tell users how much ink is left in their Epson printer or All-in-One
Epson voice-activated printing is now available with Google Assistant and Siri supported devices. It’s compatible with Epson printers that feature the Epson Connect service including the EcoTank, WorkForce and Expression printer lines. Once enabled, customers can say, “OK Google, open Epson printer” or “Hey Siri, open Epson printer” to get started. More information on voice-activated printing with Epson can be found here.
