DocuWare’s PaperScan App Now Available for Android Mobile Devices
DocuWare reports that its PaperScan app for scanning from an MFP to a mobile device is now available for Android mobile devices. PaperScan was previously only available for Apple iOS mobile devices; according to DocuWare, the app has been downloaded approximately 15,000 times from the Apple store.
PaperScan is available for free in Google Play for Google Nexus 4, Google Nexus 5, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.
To use the app, the users holds their Smartphone over the document and PaperScan automatically captures the image once it recognizes the borders of the document. DocuWare says what sets PaperScan apart from other mobile-scanning apps is that the PaperScan app adjusts for weak lighting or little contrast between paper and background, so that scanned image quality is better. PaperScan also adjusts for wrinkled or folded paper, and a document doesn’t have to be lying down on a flat surface – instead, users can hold the document in their hands. PDFs generated by PaperScan can be stored in DocuWare document-storage systems, as well as in Dropbox accounts, sent by email, and printed via AirPrint.
