Canon’s Next-Generation uniFlow Online Features New Enhancements
On July 7th, Canon U.S.A. introduced the next generation of uniFlow Online, version 2021.2. uniFlow Online is a secure cloud-based print and scan solution that enables organizations to manage their entire print environment. The solution aims to enhance document security, control costs, and reduce the IT workload.
Among version 2021.2’s new capabilities is print from and scan to Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is a workplace collaboration app that helps employees stay organized and communicate, all in one place, at their computer workstations. With it, users can arrange meetings, have conversations, and share files.
With uniFLOW Online 2021.2’s integration with Microsoft Teams, users can now access their Microsoft Teams account directly from the touchscreen of compatible Canon MFPs, and can then navigate to a specific Team or Channel and search through the available folders to select files for printing. By browsing or searching for the Team or Channel from the MFP’s touchscreen, users can also scan documents, define file names, and add a subject and message that will be posted with the scanned document.
Other key feature updates now available with uniFLOW Online 2021.2 include:
Device User Interface (UI) Design Improvements
The new interface is said to incorporate a modern look and feel. Canon says development of the new user interface will be introduced in phased stages, with this first iteration enabling customization of the device’s touchscreen to change the background image and color of buttons, reconfigure the layout to better suit their needs, as well as show or hide the side menu bar.
Budget Replenishment via PayPal Payment Option
uniFlow Online 2021.2 is equipped to allow users, such as students, to recharge their MFP print and copy accounts through PayPal, enabling schools to charge students for their printing and copying activity.
Canon says this simple and easy-to-use integration, which adds to existing budgeting applications, makes it easier for students and staff to manage their funds. Funds can easily be added to an account by using a PayPal account, credit card, or debit card.
Enhanced Support for Canon imageRUNNER and imageCLASS Devices
With this new release, the supported feature set has been expanded, further standardizing functionality across supported Canon devices. Compatible Canon imageRUNNER and imageCLASS devices now support the following uniFLOW Online features: print via the cloud, cost-center selection at the device; and automatic scan-size detection (for A3 MFPs).
Mobile Print Release on Any Supported Brand of Printer
Submitted print jobs can be securely released using the uniFLOW Online Print & Scan app by simply scanning a QR code. Already available on Canon devices, the expanded support for additional models has been developed specifically to help improve the user experience for authenticated printing and scanning on a mixed fleet of devices.
Canon says it’s continuously upgrading core uniFLOW Online capabilities, and many minor enhancements are also included with uniFLOW Online 2021.2.
