Canon Launches Print-per-Use Program for Wide-Format Printers

Canon U.S.A. today announced that it’s enhancing its Managed Print Service (MPS) solution for its large-format printers with a new eService cost-per-use program.

Designed with usability in mind, Canon says this easy-to-use solution allows Canon’s authorized channel partners to remotely monitor their customers’ usage and service-related data from their imagePROGRAF, PRO Series, TX Series, TM Series, and legacy printers.

With this new offering, the firm says customers may no longer have to purchase a printer upfront, or manually order supplies or services. Instead, by using eService, customers can pay on a print-per-use basis, allowing them to concentrate more on managing their business as any consumable or service will be provided on an as needed basis. Customers also receive full-term service and support, including routine maintenance where available from a Canon channel partner, so they no longer need to worry about checking if there is enough ink or paper.

Via eService’s online dashboard, Canon service authorized partners  can remotely view consumable usage levels, as well as the service status and history of a customer’s printer. eService can also automatically notify print providers in cases when customers require consumables, or when an imagePROGRAF printer requires attention. Canon says ultimately Canon partners can provide quicker response times for service-based needs as they help to eliminate downtime, increase customer satisfaction and streamline productivity for users.

The new eService software is now available to Canon imagePROGRAF authorized service providers.
