Canon Adds Latest imagePRESS Light-Production Color MFP

On February 1st, Canon U.S.A. announced the imagePRESS Lite C170 A3 color MFP, a light production system that’s now available through authorized Canon dealers, and is for offices and print centers.

Joining the imagePRESS Lite C165 series, these solutions are designed to help streamline efficiency and sustainability while providing various security features.

Color-imaging features include the R-VCSEL Imaging Laser, Multi D.A.T., and Translucent CV Toner. Paramount in the imagePRESS C910 and C10010VP series, these technologies are said to help users produce vibrant images with minimal effort. Canon also implements features for environmental sustainability with Energy Star certification, as well as EPEAT Gold and low Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) ratings.

Canon Unified Firmware Platform

The imagePRESS Lite C170 and imagePRESS Lite C165 models are designed with many of the same platform elements as the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX office MFPs.  All models in the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX and imagePRESS Lite families use  a common source code for firmware development. This Unified Firmware Platform (UFP) allows for version upgrades to existing models in the same generation. Ultimately, UFP provides  increased value over time with feature improvements, as well as consistency across models.

Canon MEAP

With its MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) compatibility, the imagePRESS Lite C170 Series also has the ability to integrate with many Canon and third-party solutions, including the Canon uniFLOW Online cloud-based output management solution.

Media Handling

The imagePRESS Lite C170 prints on stock up to 350gsm, and can also print on long sheets up to 51.2″ long with optional accessories. Designed to help users meet fast turnaround times and deadlines, the imagePRESS Lite C170 is built with fast print speeds, allowing users to print at up to 80 (black)/70 (color) ppm.

Fiery Technology

The imagePRESS Lite C170 Series can also be connected to the new Canon imagePRESS Server M10 V2 and L30 V2 controllers, powered by EFI Fiery technology, to provide the tools that can help users increase performance, preserve corporate branding, and create high quality complex documents.

Security

Like the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models, the imagePRESS Lite C170 Series offers security features designed to help users safeguard sensitive information, and assist wth regulatory compliance in high-end office and light production environments. Once activated, the McAfee Embedded Control feature helps block the execution of unauthorized applications through intelligent whitelisting.
