Brother Seeks to Acquire Roland DG
On March 13th, Brother Industries of Japan reported that it’s seeking to acquire Japanese company Roland DG, a provider of wide-format printers
Brother will make the offer in mid-May, offering 5,200 yen (approximately $35) per share. It noted that this is about 165 yen ($1.12) higher than that offered by XYZ Company, which one month ago offered to purchase Roland for 62 billion yen ($419 million).
Roland DG stated that it will refer Brother’s offer to shareholders after review by its board of directors and a special committee.
Domino Acquisition
In 2015, in order to expand from home and office printers, Brother acquired Domino Printing Sciences for $1.55 billion. In the print market, Brother currently markets home and office printers and MFPs, direct-to-garment printers, and industrial wide-format printers.
