Applied Innovation Expands in Mid-West
On April 15th, business-technology dealer Applied Innovation reported that it’s expanded its its coverage in Indiana and Southern Michigan with the acquisition of MCE, Inc. for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition was effective April 1st, and is said to underscore Applied Innovation’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan regions.
MCE was founded nearly 30 years ago as a toner-cartridge remanufacturer. Over the years, the company leveraged its expertise in laser printing and evolved to become a dealer for Canon and HP Inc. copiers, MFPs, wide-format plotters, printers, and Zebra printing labels. With the acquisition by Applied Innovation, all employees of MCE will remain with the company as it transitions to operate under the Applied Innovation brand.
Mike Presnal, president of MCE, highlighted the timing of the acquisition, “It became obvious that to become a better resource to our existing clients, we needed to partner with a leader in the technology space. “Just like MCE, Applied Innovation is a customer-centric organization. They have a vision and the necessary resources to bring value to our customers and greater opportunities for my employees.”
“The acquisition of MCE reinforces our commitment to growth in the Indiana market and to select companies that are a fit for our Applied Innovation culture. MCE brings almost three decades of experience in the office-technology industry, and we anticipate a smooth transition,” commented John Lowery, Applied Innovation’s founder and CEO. “It’s also great news for MCE customers since they will now have the benefit of Applied Innovation’s expanded products and services offerings that include managed network services and additional IT support, enterprise-level document management and workflow solutions, secure document shredding, telephony and carrier services, facilities management, medical waste disposal, and much more.”
Applied Innovation was founded over 37 years ago, and provides imaging, technology, and automation services to businesses, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and manufacturing operations. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Applies Innovation has locations in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida.
