Sharp Launches Meeting-Facilitator Solution

Every office worker knows that one of the most time-consuming and frustrating things can be organizing and holding efficient meetings and sharing required documents and resources

Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) today however announced a new family of smart-office solutions that are designed to make meetings more efficient. Sharp introduced the new solutions at its National Dealer Meeting being held in Las Vegas,

Sharp’s new Synappx platform aims to address the workforce’s increased need for secure accessibility, ease of use, and accessibility via mobile devices, enhancing employees’ ability to connect to office technology and collaborative systems.

The firm notes that, due to the growth of the “gig economy,” a massive generational shift, and the proliferation of smart home technology, collaboration has emerged as a central theme of the modern digital workplace.

At its dealer conference, themed “Own It,” Sharp is demonstrating  how the Synappx platform of collaboration and productivity applications positions Sharp as a smart workplace provider.

The Basics

The Synappx platform is designed for the Microsoft 365 environment, and is integrated with Microsoft Azure and Office 365. There are no stored credentials, and the application login uses the  Microsoft Office 365 login process. It’s synchronized with Office 365 (calendar, user, and rooms).

Synappx Meeting

Snappx Meeting advantages include:

  • Starting a meeting: Synappx Meeting helps streamline and automatically connect technologies necessary to start meetings.
  • During a meeting: Synappx Meeting helps users track the meeting time and access shortcuts to their files and applications.
  • End a meeting: Synappx Meeting helps automatically disconnect the technologies used during the meeting to enable the next meeting to begin on time.

Sharp notes that research has shown it takes an average of 12 minutes to get productive in a meeting, with time lost to activities such as connecting to a large display, starting the conferencing system, or finding the right content.

Synappx Meeting is said to solve these challenges. It provides

  • A visual meeting timer
  • Access to meeting invite attachments and folder shortcuts
  • Optional hands-free voice operation for display control, Microsoft PowerPoint and Sharp Pen Software

The Windows application is available on the Windows Store. Mobile applications are available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Sharp’s “My Sharp” skill for Amazon Alexa for Synappx Meeting is available from the Amazon website.

Synappx WorkSpaces Analytic Service: Smarter Meeting Spaces

With Synappx WorkSpaces Analytic Service, Sharp says it brings the power of IoT into the meeting room.

SynappxWork spaces allows for tracking of workspace use and environmental factors, such as room temperature, to help create a smarter, more comfortable workplace. By combining sensor data from the Microsoft Windows collaboration display from Sharp with Microsoft Office 365 data, this cloud solution is said to provide various key data for the workplace.

Synappx Go: Productivity Wherever Users  Go

Sharp notes that smartphones and mobile devices have changed the way people work, and now they can change the way the workforce collaborates while workers move around the workplace.

With Synappx Go, users can scale content to a large display, or scan documents and release print jobs from a compatible MPF, all from a mobile device.

Synappx Go Agent applications are available for download from Synappx Admin Portal. Synappx Go mobile applications are available from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Synappx Go for MFPs

Synappx Go for MFPs provide document sharing, print, and scan with Sharp NFC-enabled MFPs from mobile devices. Users can scan documents to themselves, their email address list, and to cloud-based document sharing and storing sites (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box).

Synappx Admin Portal

Synappx Admin Portal is a cloud-based solution, accessible via web browser, for IT management of Snyappx.

With it, administrators can manage Synappx Go and Synappx Meeting products from one location, with administrators obtaining central control of all necessary components of Synappx Go and Synappx Meeting.

Visualized data is available to give administrators insight into organizational trends.

The Synappx platform is compatible with the Windows collaboration display from Sharp, the Sharp AQUOS BOARD interactive display, and Sharp MFPs.
