Canon Obtains a Host of Amazon Toner-Take-Downs

Over the last several days, Canon Inc. of Tokyo, Japan, reported that it’s obtained additional removals of unauthorized, third-party toner-cartridges from the Amazon ecommerce website – a process significantly easier than filing patent-infringement lawsuits.

The take-downs include:

  • On  August 28th, Canon announced it filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by QWEN for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by QWEN via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove QWEN’s listings for those products, namely, QWEN’s listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B0722XTZ7X, B0794WTCX5, B07CYM7W4Y and B07CYR34V9.

At the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On September 3rd, Canon  announced it filed an infringement report with Amazon.ca seeking removal of an Amazon.ca listing for certain toner cartridges sold by Laser Tek Services, Inc.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A and CC533A toner cartridges sold by Laser Tek Services, Inc. via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B00M28AKJ4, B007JUU8II, B007JUT91U, B00M28AHVK, B00M28AI14, B00M28AY4K, B00M28AJWM, B00M28AW0Q, B00M28AFUS and B00M28ANTQ.

    At the time of this announcement, products sold under the above identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.ca. Filing an infringement report with Amazon.ca is a service offered by Amazon and does not constitute an official finding of infringement. The decision to take down a product is in the discretion of Amazon and is based on information provided by Canon.

  • On September 3rd, Canon announced it filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by PANCONTINENT for use in HP laser beam printers.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by PANCONTINENT via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove PANCONTINENT’s listings for those products, namely, PANCONTINENT listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B077ZLWKWK, and B07NBVR8R6.

    At the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On September 3rd, Canon announced it filed an infringement report with Amazon.ca seeking removal of an Amazon.ca listing for certain toner cartridges sold by Douglas Inks.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A and CC533A toner cartridges sold by Douglas Inks via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B07LFM4G1L, B07LFLSN9W, B07LFLCLVF, B07LFLP8DC, B07LFLJHC9, B07LFN43DR, B07LFLVY49, B07LFLQDZY B07LFLX4MZ and B07LFLDJ7L.

    At the time of this announcement, products sold under the above identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.ca.

  • On August 28th, Canon announced it filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by NEWYORKTONER for use in HP laser beam printers.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by NEWYORKTONER via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove NEWYORKTONER’s listings for those products, namely, the NEWYORKTONER listing with Amazon Standard Identification Number (“ASIN”) B00561O5KE.

    At the time of this announcement, the above-identified NEWYORKTONER listing was no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On August 28th, Canon announced it had filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by BESTINK for use in HP laser beam printers.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by BESTINK via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove BESTINK’s listings for those products, namely, the BESTINK listing with Amazon Standard Identification Number (“ASIN”) B01M0I5UF1.

    At the time of this announcement, the above-identified BESTINK listing was no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On August 28th, Canon announced it had filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by BESTINK for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon requested that Amazon remove INKPLUS’ listings for those products, namely, INKPLUS’ listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B07H18GVVZ, B07H18SLHQ, B07GZDBBGG, B07H19DG5H, B07GZGNDPJ and B07GZD5KHP.

    At the time of this announcement, the above-identified INKPLUS listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On August 26th, Canon announced it had filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by VISION SUPPLIES for use in HP laser beam printers.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 130A toner cartridges sold by VISION SUPPLIES via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove VISION SUPPLIES listings for those products, namely, VISION SUPPLIES listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B00I5WLXD8 and B00I5WLXPQ.

    At the time of this announcement, the above-identified VISION SUPPLIES listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

  • On August 26th, Canon announced it had filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by HOBBYUNION for use in HP laser beam printers.

    Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model HP 126A toner cartridges sold by HOBBYUNION via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008. Canon requested that Amazon remove HOBBYUNION listings for those products, namely, HOBBYUNION listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”)
