Y Soft Offers ‘Comfort Blankets’ for Nuance Users

While they’re usually reserved for victims of accidents and natural disasters, on April 3rd, Y Soft announced it’s offering Nuance customers comfort blankets to help them transition through Nuance Communication’s sale of its Document Imaging print-management and document-capture business to Kofax, which it completed in February 2019 for $400 million.

Y Soft notes that Nuance’s sale of its Document Imaging business is the second time in about seven years that the print-management and document-capture solutions have changed ownership. (Over about the last decade, Nuance purchased various solutions that made up its Document Imaging business, including Equitrac, OmniPage, Output Manager, etc. For its part, Kofax was previously part of Lexmark’s Enterprise Software group; Lexmark sold this group to the Thoma Bravo private-equity firm in 2017.)

Y Soft also argues that the solutions from Kofax and Nuance have yet to be fully integrated, “causing customers more time and effort dealing with separate contracts and support services and distinct reports for print and scan usage.”

Consequently, Y Soft is offering a free comfort blanket – along with product and support discounts – to qualified Nuance customers who contact a local Y Soft representative to learn about YSoft SafeQ.

Y Soft says its SafeQ is an integrated enterprise workflow solution platform that has offered, for over 18 years, print-management and document-capture workflows for 2D and 3D printers to over 16,000 enterprise customers globally. The firm says the solution provides a complete line-up of integrated hardware, software products and services, offering customers a single point of contact.

The YSoft SafeQ platform is said to fully integrate print-management and document-capture for seamless user experience and administrative control, and is said to be modular allowing customers to protect their investment and build upon modules already in place. There’s also a pay-as-you-go subscription option.

Comfort Blanket Program

Under its Comfort Blanket program, Y Soft will provide a “warm wool blanket” to qualifying organizations in the United States. Qualified organizations can also receive  discounts on YSoft SafeQ and Y Soft support and services.

To qualify, an organization has to have Nuance print-management or document-capture solution in place and receive an online or in-person consultation by September 30, 2019.

Those interested can register for a consultation to receive additional details about the YSoft SafeQ platform. Blankets will ship within six to eight weeks of the completed consultation and are limited to the first 100 consultations given.
