Xerox Mobilizes Print Services for People On the Go; Delivers New Revenue Stream for Businesses with Instant Print Kiosk

Xerox today launched Xerox Instant Print Kiosk, a self-serve, print-for-pay solution designed for use high-traffic locations such as college campuses,.

As seen above, the kiosk’s touchscreen provides users with self-serve print, copy, scan, and fax.

However, Xerox says the kiosk is unlike traditional coin-operated printing and copying devices, as it features high-speed cloud connectivity and other capabilities. Users can access their accounts at popular cloud sites, including those at Dropbox, Electronics for Imaging PrintMe, Google Drive, OneDrive, and SharePoint, and print their files as needed.

The kiosk solution also features remote device administration (EFI Self-Serve Admin Central), payment transactions, accounting, cloud-based faxing, and end-to-end data security protection.

Prime locations for the kiosk include high-traffic areas, such as retail settings, hotels, airports, convention centers, and libraries, as well as in higher-education institutions for student and faculty use.

Other features include document-hole punching and stapling up to 50 sheets. A variety of card-based payment options are supported, such as credit, gift, and student campus cards.

The solution incorporates a Xerox copier/MFP that features:

  • 55 ( black)/50 (color) ppm rated print speed.
  • Color image quality up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi resolution.
  • Dual-head single-pass scanner that simultaneously scans two sides at once, up to 133 impressions per minute and up to 600 x 600 dpi resolution.
  • 10.1” color touchscreen user interface with easy-to-use icons for copy, print, scan, and fax.
  • Print Preview, which lets users confirm their print jobs before completion.
  • Payment card reader that integrates FreedomPay and EFI  Self-Serve AdminCentral pricing, reporting, and secure payment system.
  • XMediusFAX cloud fax service, which enables fast, secure faxing with no analog phone line required.
  • USB thumb drive port for print-from and scan-to capability.
  • Front door for securing consumables.
  • Office Finisher LX provides more output options, including 2,000-sheet stacking; 50-sheet, 2-position stapling; and optional hole punch.

EFI Self-Serve AdminCentral

As noted, the kiosk features EFI Self-Serve AdminCentral, a cloud-based management portal that enables central control of any number of Instant Print Kiosks, wherever they’re located, and manages
payment-card authorization services for all devices with the included FreedomPay card reader.

It enables secure credit-card payment supporting EMV with the latest chip authorization and PCI Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE), as well as cash-card payment and integration with campus card and billing systems.

From anywhere with a Web browser, AdminCentral allows an administrator to monitor and manage transactions and provides a  portal for configuring and maintaining the system.
