New Konica Minolta Print-Management, Scan-Workflow Solution

Konica Minolta of Tokyo, Japan, today reported that it will globally release Dispatcher Suite, a software suite developed by Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. in partnership with Czech-based partner Y Soft Corporation.

Dispatcher Suite is a software package that consists of Dispatcher Paragon, an integrated print-management solution, and Dispatcher Phoenix, a  process-automation application.

Dispatcher Suite will be released after January 2019 in the United States, Europe, and other countries.

According to Konica Minolta, office workers are engaged in complicated manual tasks such as collecting, inputting, processing, saving, and distributing files in their daily operations. Dispatcher Suite helps automate routine tasks, by enabling users to select copier/MFP touchscreen buttons that are customized for particular document workflows.

Dispatcher Suite is also said to provide user-authentication management of printing and scanning, as well as aggregation and management of status data to enhance security, improve workflow productivity, and  reduce expenses. It provides single sign-on and the same “look and feel” at the MFP for both print-management and advanced scanning.

Features include:

Automation of document processing and sorting by Dispatcher Phoenix:

Dispatcher Phoenix is said to automate the processing of documents created in daily operations at an office. For example, when a contract is scanned by an MFP (in order to create an electronic file), it can be automatically converted into text data using OCR. Attributes can be automatically assigned to a file, which is then automatically sorted and stored in a designated folder based on the attributes.

Print management functions provided by Dispatcher Paragon:

Printing policies or rules designed for reducing printing costs can be created. For instance, administrators can specify that emails are printed in black-and-while and/or in duplex mode. Administrators can also monitor overall user trends based on tracking and analysis of user, division, or place.

Security measures provided by Dispatcher Paragon:

Printers and MFPs can be managed using the user information managed by a server by linking IC card information used in employee IDs with Active Directory and LDAP.

Dispatcher Paragon also supports two-factor user-authentication systems using an IC card and a PIN code, or an IC card and a password. Users are required to hold a card over a reader when printing a document in order to prevent unauthorized users accessing print jobs.

Flexible system configuration

Centralized management is provided for single-site operation, multiple environments in and outside of a country, or even a large-scale environment. The solution also supports cloud-based system configurations such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
