New Epson Document Scanners, Accounting Software
Epson America today introduced its new WorkForce ES-300WR ($399.99 MSRP)and WorkForce ES-500WR ($499.99 MSRP) document scanners that it’s bundling with Epson ScanSmart Accounting Edition Software and Nuance Power PDF software. Designed for small businesses and home users, the ES-300WR and ES-500WR scanners are said to streamline organizing and sharing financial documents.
The new Epson ScanSmart Accounting Edition Software is said to provide advanced accounting document-management tools to preview, email, upload, and organize receipts, invoices, financial documents, and more. The receipt manager function can automatically extract data from receipts and invoices, and export to QuickBooks Online or to Microsoft Excel, eliminating the need for manual entry. The automatic file naming and receipt-recognition tool, with machine-learning capabilities, identifies important data such as vendor names and logos, and streamlines the process of storing and finding critical data and documents. The software supports Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows 8/8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) SP1, and Apple Mac OS X 10.11.x to Mac OS 10.13.x.
Also included with the new WorkForce ES-300WR and WorkForce ES-500WR scanners is Nuance Power PDF software for Windows, and PDF Converter for Mac, which allows users to create, convert, and assemble searchable PDFs, as well as annotate, highlight and redact.
WorkForce ES-300WR and ES-500WR
Epson says its two new document scanners boast the fastest scan speeds in their class. Featuring a 20-page Auto Document Feeder, the ES-300WR scanner can perform batch scanning at up to 25 ppm/50 ipm (based on letter-size scans at 300 dpi using the AC adapter or USB 3.0 cable). The ES-300WR is said to be completely portable, and can be powered by AC, battery or USB,.
With speeds of up to 35 ppm/70 ipm and a 50-page Auto Document Feeder, the compact ES-500WR scanner can scan business and ID cards, as well as extra-long invoices, and more.
Both scanners include TWAIN drivers for integration with virtually any document-management software, enabling businesses to save time by directly scanning files into their existing workflow.
Both the ES-300WR and ES-500WR scanners enable users to wirelessly scan two-sided reports, business cards, and receipts to laptops, tablets, and smartphones, and can be also be used to scan to cloud-based document-storage accounts, or to searchable PDFs and editable Word and Excel files.
The Epson WorkForce ES-300WR and WorkForce ES-500WR are now available online at major computer, office and electronic superstores and online at www.epson.com. Both scanners feature a one-year limited warranty, and optional extended service plans featuring next-business=day exchange programs.
Epson ScanSmart Software
In addition to the ScanSmart Accounting Edition Software that’s bundled only with ES-300WR and ES-500WR, Epson also introduced its standard edition ScanSmart Software, which is bundled with the following existing models: WorkForce ES-200, ES-300W, ES-400, and ES-500W. Epson says its ScanSmart Software makes it easy for users to scan, organize, email and upload documents to popular cloud services. It features automatic file and folder naming functionality and an intuitive user interface.
