Epson Expands A3 Workgroup Family with New WorkForce Pro WF-C8000 Series

Epson America today launched its new WorkForce Pro WF-C8000 A3 Printer Series, designed for workgroups and sold through Epson’s BusinessFirst resellers. Powered by Epson’s PrecisionCore color-inkjet printing technology, the WF-C8000 Series consists of the WF-C8690 copier/MFP ($1,499 MSRP) and WF-C8190 printer ($799.99 MSRP), both of which Epson says save users up to 35 percent on printing costs  versus color-laser counterparts.

Features of note include automatic duplexing; inkjet nozzle verification technology, and up to 1,830-sheet paper capacity with optional paper trays.

The WF-C8690 MFP features print, copy, color scan, and fax, plus 50-sheet ADF. Maximum copy size is 11″ x 17″, and users can print on media up to 13″ x 19″ media. With the WF-C8190 standalone printer, users can also print on media sizes up to 13″ x 19″.

Other features include PCL 3 and PostScript 3 emulation print drivers, plus compatibility with ISV and third-party software solutions, such as Nuance Equitrac Office/Express, Nuance eCopy ShareScan, PaperCut, and nddPrint through Epson Open Platform. They also provide advanced security features and are enabled for remote printer data collection with managed print services (MPS) software solutions from Epson partners PrintFleet, ECi (FMAudit), and others.

Specifications include:

  • Up to 75,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle
  • ISO print speed rated at 24 ppm in black and color; ISO rated duplex print speed rated at 16 ppm in black and color; maximum draft print speed rated at 35 ppm in black and color
  • Standard connectivity consists of  SuperSpeed USB (compatible with USB 3.0 specification); wireless LAN IEEE (802.11 b/g/n)Wired Ethernet (1000 Base-T/100 Base-TX/10 Base-T); and Wi-Fi Direct
  • Uses up to 85-percent less power than laser printers
  • Shipped with Epson DURABrite Pro pigment-based 912 cyan, magenta, yellow, black ink (CYMK) cartridges; black cartridge yields up to 2,900 pages, while each CYM cartridge yields up to 1,700 pages
  • Can be equipped with Epson High-Capacity 912 High-Capacity CYMK ink cartridges; black yields up to 5,800 pages, while each CYM cartridge yields up to 4,600 pages
  • Can be equipped with Epson Extra-High-Capacity CYMK ink cartridges; black yields up to 11,500 pages, while each CYM cartridge yields up to 8,000 pages
  • Standard 330-sheet paper capacity; 1,830 sheets total with three optional 500-sheet paper trays
  • Mobile printing is via Epson Connect (Epson Email Print, Epson iPrint Mobile App, Epson Remote Print); also supports Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Fire OS
