New Epson L Series Models Feature Auto Duplexing, Plus Integrated Ink Tanks for Smaller Footprints
Epson Singapore today launched its new A4 L-series of All-in-Ones and printers with refillable ink tanks that it says boast “one of the lowest printing costs in the market” as well as more compact footprints.
The new L-series printers are said to “significantly lower the total cost of ownership to businesses” with “ultra-high” page yields. Each complete set of four CYMK (cyan, yellow, magenta, black) ink bottles are said to yield 7,500 (black) pages, and 6,000 pages each for CYM.
The L-series also features automatic two-sided duplex printing for further reducing costs. Epson says it’s currently the only company providing ink-tank printers with automatic duplex printing. Automatic duplex printing is provided with the new L4160, L6160, L6170, and L6190 printers
The new L6160, L6170, L6190 printers also incorporate Epson PrecisionCore print heads for achieving high ISO-rated print speeds of up to 15 ppm (black) in standard mode, and for up to 33 ppm (black) in draft mode. Maximum print resolution is 4,800 x 1,200 dpi. Epson’s PrecisionCore print heads are said to incorporate Micro Thin Film Piezo print chips for precise multi-size ink-droplet control capabilities, ensuring better printing of details and image gradations in documents and photographs.
The new models also use a pigment-based black ink for producing water- and smudge-resistant prints. For photo printing, the printers are said to feature the ability to print “outstanding lab-quality photos when printing on photo media.” Large-sized photo printing is made possible as the printers support border-less printing on up to A4-size media.
Other features include a 30-page automatic document feeder (ADF).
Epson also says that the new All-in-Ones feature a a new sleek design, and have been re-designed into a compact size with the ink tanks integrated into the printer itself, providing the smallest footprint among all ink-tank printer brands. (With other Epson ink-tank All-in-Ones and printers, ink tanks protrude from the main body of the printer – see photo below of older-model Epson ink-tank printer.)
The firm also says that refilling the ink tanks is easy with spill-free ink bottles. The ink bottles are designed with a unique “lock-and-key” bottle nozzle, with each ink bottle nozzle uniquely customized to fit its matching color tank in order to prevent re-filling errors.
Other features include Ethernet wired network connectivity, and wireless Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity, the latter of which enables users to print wirelessly within a network, connect to mobile devices, or print remotely from anywhere via Epson Connect, Epson’s suite of connectivity solutions.
Tan May Lin, general manager of sales, marketing, and customer service division for Epson Singapore commented: “We have redesigned the experience of our L-series ink tank printers to bring greater convenience and ease-of-use to users, as well as added new features that support the business needs of our customers. The new integrated ink tank printers are designed with the customers’ experience in mind to offer one of the lowest printing costs in the market. We look forward to offering solutions that support businesses by helping them to manage their operational costs and improve business efficiency.”
As the brand with the widest range of ink tank printers worldwide, Epson says it continues to lead as the number-one ink tank vendor, achieving the largest market share of ink-tank printers among ink tank vendors across South East Asia. It says it’s sold over 20 million Epson ink-tank printers worldwide since its first launch of ink-tank printers in 2010.
The new integrated ink tank printers consist of the L4150, L4160, L6160, L6170 and L6190. All five models will be available at major retailers beginning September 22nd.
