Commercial Copy Adds Lexmark to List of Printer/MFP Companies it’s Suing for Patent Infringement
The Northern California Record reports that Commercial Copy Innovations (CCI) has added Lexmark International to the list of printer/MFP companies that it’s suing for patent infringement, with CCI also suing Xerox, Ricoh, Mimaki, and Lanier for patents it obtained from Eastman Kodak.
On July 6th, CCI of Costa Mesa, California, filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Southern Division against Lexmark, alleging that Lexmark sold CCI’s patented products without its consent.
According to the complaint, CCI has acquired all rights to a U.S. patent for various products developed by Eastman Kodak, and these products have been copied, manufactured, and sold by Lexmark without CCI’s consent.
CCI alleges that Lexmark markets and sells systems or products that incorporate the CGI patent technology, and is seeking a jury trial and damages.
