Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced its new third-generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series, which consists of three new A3 color MFPs that will be available through Canon dealers next month, the the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7580i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7570i, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7565i. Canon says the new MFPs feature a wide range of document-finishing options and consistent high-quality images, and are designed for high-volume offices and “demanding multi-user environments, including large departments within companies, schools, universities or other self-service environments.”

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series comes standard with Universal Login Manager (ULM) for securing the MFPs in multi-user environments. This server-less solution provides device authentication and simple usage tracking in a customizable solution, as well as user authentication, enabling organizations to manage user access and costs by controlling individual users’ access and usage. Through the use of this standard feature, these new models can also integrate with optional uniFLOW, Canon’s scalable software solution platform for output management and “smart”-scanning solutions.

Image Quality

For color-print image quality, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series employs Canon’s V2 color profile, as well as some of Canon’s engine and imaging technologies derived its production printers. For instance, a red Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (R-VCSEL) provides color print resolution at 2,400 x 2,400 dpi. Canon’s “Consistently Vivid” (CV) Toner is also said to provide “vibrant images on a wide variety of media helps to create output with solid blacks and image stability with limited text irregularities.”

Productivity

Canon says the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series features several key productivity-enhancing improvements derived from previous imageRUNNER ADVANCE models. It also says there’s expanded paper-weight support through the paper cassettes, an improved toner-melting point, and enhanced fixing process, enabling users to print on a variety of media including heavy stock up to 300gsm, uncoated, coated, and textured paper types.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series toner is also said to be designed for significantly higher yields versus previous models, and also provides greater image-drum yields.

My Advance for User Customizaton

The MFPs feature a color touch-screen with smart phone-like operation. After authenticating themselves at the control panel, users can access My ADVANCE features to create a personalized experience tailored to their preferences. Display settings and many frequently used functions can be customized on a user-by-user basis, allowing individuals to set their preferred language, create their own personal address book, or send to contacts saved on compatible smartphones and tablets via integration with the free Canon PRINT Business app.

Document-Finishing Options

Various document-finishing options are available, including folding, hole-punching, document insertion, multi-position and saddle-stitch stapling, and booklet-making/trimming. There’s also Staple On Demand and staple-free stapling available with the optional finishers.

Security Features

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series features a set of standard security capabilities, with optional security capabilities also available. As part of Canon’s third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, these MFPs include standard Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Encryption with FIPS140-2 validation. When activated, this function automatically encrypts data stored on the main unit’s HDD. The standard HDD Erase feature can be enhanced with an optional feature that allows administrators to schedule the erase times and create a confirmation report.

Device & Fleet Management

The new MFPs are compatible with Canon’s imageWARE Enterprise Management Console and its plug-ins for device and fleet management, and with Canon’s Managed Document Services.

With Canon’s Unified Firmware Platform, additional functionality can be integrated into existing models within the third generation of imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs through future version upgrades.

The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 Series MFPs are Energy Star-certified and rated EPEAT-Gold rated.
