New HP Officejet 200, Officejet 250 Mobile Printer, All-in-One for Business Professionals on the Road
There’s mobile printing, and then there are mobile printers and All-in-Ones that you can actually take on the road with you. Earlier last month, HP Inc. introduced two such take-them-anywhere mobile printers, the Officejet 200 ($279.99 MSRP) mobile printer, and the Officejet 250 ($349.99 MSRP) mobile All-in-One, both of which provide full-color inkjet printing.
Why mobile printers? HP cites research from market-research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) indicating that by 2020, mobile workers will make up about 70 percent of the workforce in the United States. For some companies, that will have a direct impact on the bottom line through increased productivity or a decreased investment in office space. The rise in mobility has been fueled by smartphones and tablets that connect to Wi-Fi and mobile data networks, so that much of the work that was once tied to a desktop computer in an office cubicle now can be done at the end of a client meeting, or from a booth at a neighborhood coffee shop.
Designed with mobile professionals in mind, the HP OfficeJet 200 and HP OfficeJet 250 provide easy color printing from laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
HP says they also provide various security features to protect business documents and information. For mobile workers – among them sales and insurance reps, real estate agents, construction workers, visiting healthcare providers – the ability to print important documents while on the road has a tremendous impact on productivity and ultimately, to their company’s success, according to Santi Morera, vice president and general manager of Imaging and Printing at HP: “Mobile professionals depend on the ability printing on-the-go wirelessly from laptops, smartphones, and tablets while ensuring security at the same time.”
For instance, the new mobile systems Ones connect via Wi-Fi Direct, a peer-to-peer connection technology that’s separate from public Wi-Fi networks and offers a more secure connection with minimal signal clutter, as well as passphrase protection, and AES 128 encrypted security features. This is important for companies concerned about malware, hacking, and viruses that could potentially creep into their private networks as they expand to accommodate more mobile devices.
The All-in-Ones also feature a a built-in replacable battery, as well as a power adapter that supports charging from both AC and USB.
A free HP All-in-One Printer Remote app is available from the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores, and enables users to easily scan documents and photos directly to their mobile devices, as well as help customers manage printer settings and order supplies.
