Toshiba and Dealers to Sell, Distribute Nuance’s AutoStore and Equitrac Office Document Solutions

Along with its introduction of next-generation A3 MFPs this week, Toshiba America Business Solutions reports that it and partner Nuance Communications have entered into a multi-year partnership that allows Toshiba to sell and distribute Nuance’s AutoStore and Equitrac document-solutions through its independent office-equipment dealer network and Toshiba Business Solutions direct-sales operations throughout the United States and Latin America.

The Nuance/Toshiba collaboration will enable current and future Toshiba e-STUDIO MFPs to offer control-panel integration with the two flagship Nuance offerings.

Nuance’s print and capture solutions will be available to Toshiba dealers and customers include:


AutoStore is said to be best suited for business processes in which users submit documents and data into a predefined workflow. AutoStore is designed for faster capture and distribution of scanned documents with minimal user interaction.

With AutoStore, administrators can set up pre-defined scanning workflows, so that users can automatically process and route documents to various destinations, including popular groupware and collaboration platforms; file; and fax and email destinations.

Equitrac Office

Equitrac Office is said to enable businesses to let users print what they need and when they need it, while reducing the costs and complexities of deploying a print infrastructure.

With Hybrid Print Control, Equitrac Office removes dependencies on print servers, print drivers, and complex print fleets, while managing “every printed page in an organization.” As user requirements for printing change and IT infrastructure evolves, Equitrac Office lets customers adapt to these changes with a choice of how to deploy printing – using print servers, direct IP printing, or a via hybrid model that includes both, enabling customers to tailor their print environments according to their specific needs.

Toshiba e-BRIDGE Next Platform

Toshiba has also introduced its 23 next-generation e-BRIDGE Next controller for its MFPs, which with the new MFPs’ tablet-style user interface, it says enable a more intuitive user experience and enable customers to create unique workflows. The firm says the e-BRIDGE controller’s solutions “centric: architecture is designed to connect, integrate and simplify the workplace.
