OKI Extends Warranty for ColorPainter Wide-Format Printers to Three Years
OKI Data of Tokyo reports that its OKI Data Infotech group is expanding the warranty for its ColorPainter M-64s and ColorPainter H3-104s wide-format color printers to three years.
The new warranty program covers various replacement parts, including print heads, helping customers lower their total cost of ownership, and is available for all ColorPainter M-64s and H3-104s printers installed by OKI Data authorized distributors and dealers after April 1, 2016. The extended warranty is available worldwide, except in Japan.
However, the ColorPainter W-64s/54s, H2-104s/74s, H2P-104s/74s and TerioStar Series devices are not eligible for the extended three-year warranty.
Back in October 2015, OKI Data of Tokyo, as part of its strategy to expand into the wide-format graphic-arts printing business, acquired Seiko I Infotech’s wide-format printer business, which includes the ColorPainter wide-format printer line. OKI subsequently established a new company, OKI Data Infotech Corporation, which began operating as a member of the OKI Group on October 1st.
At the time, Takao Hiramoto, president of OKI Data Corporation, commented, “We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of the wide-format printer business from SII. Through this acquisition, we have not only acquired a portfolio of wide-format inkjet printers for signs and LED graphic plotters, but also the corresponding technologies, development resources, and sales channels. By offering one-stop printing solutions targeting the printing, distribution, and retail industry sectors, we will strengthen our printer business in the professional printer market.”
