New Xerox Workflow-Optimization Solutions, DocuShare Private Cloud
April 28, 2015 – As part of its strategy to help enterprises adopt more efficient digital versus paper-based business-document processes, Xerox today introduced several new solutions designed to make the processing of business documents faster and more efficient. The new solutions are geared in particular for the retail, finance, and healthcare vertical market segments, and for large enterprises in general.
Xerox’s new Workflow Automation Solution for Supply Chain Optimization is a service-based retail offering that uses the Datawatch Managed Analytics Platform to digitize, centralize, automate, and govern error-prone and costly manual steps in a product lifecycle. The firm says the solution reduces labor and print costs, simplifies inventory management, and invoice reconciliation, and improves fill rates by syncing data and applying automated analytics at the store level.
Also new are several workflow automation solutions built on Xerox’s partnership with Hyland, creator of OnBase. These solutions are designed to automate important business-document processes, and consist of the following new Xerox solutions:
- Loan Application Processing – Captures loan-application inputs from sources such as MFPs, printers, mobile devices, and Web applications, and automatically routes them to loan officers through a tailored workflow. External data sources, such as credit-reporting services and vehicle-registration databases, can be integrated into the process and stored in a secure content-management system.
- Health Records Information Management – This solution is designed to help hospitals improve productivity and enable better visibility into patient care by providing a single, comprehensive view of all clinical documents and data stored in an Electronic Health Record, Picture Archiving and Communication System and clinical-content repository.
- Human Resources Onboarding – This solution is designed to increase the speed and efficiency of the new-employee onboarding process by removing paper, automating steps, and providing management oversight. New hires are granted access to an employee portal to complete e-form “paperwork” and other required documentation online. Supporting organizations, such as facilities, IT, and payroll, can be included to ensure timely provisioning. Data is placed under records-management control for future reference, retrieval, or destruction.
Expansion to the Cloud
Xerox also reported that its Xerox Digital Alternatives, which lets users sign, annotate, share, save, and read documents from one interface, is now available in a Xerox private cloud. It also features new analytic capability designed to help enterprises transition from paper-based to digital-based document processes. The firm’s new DocuShare Private Cloud Service also allows for easy deployment of an enterprise-content management (ECM) and collaboration platform to capture, manage, and share content securely in the cloud from a mobile device or PC.
“Organizations can have a love-hate relationship with paper. It remains critical to everything from invoicing to collaboration, but it can also cripple productivity. That’s why workflow automation is a business priority,” commented Mike Feldman, president of Xerox’s Large Enterprise Operations. “Eliminating the inherent issues of manual, paper-based work streams can improve operations and accelerate benefits derived from managed print services.”
