Ricoh Introduces ‘Legal MFP’ Optimized for Streamlining Legal Document Processes, Adds iCONECT-XERA Support
February 3, 2015 – Ricoh Americas is introducing a new offering that, when combined with select Ricoh MFPs, creates a ‘Legal MFP” that provides more efficient document workflows for the legal sector, integrating directly with third-party document-management systems for the legal sector. The firm is currently previewing its Legal MFP at the LegalTech conference currently being held February 3-5 in New York City. Ricoh also reported that it’ll also be supporting the iCONECT-XERA platform for legal discovery.
With the largest network of document-processing centers in the United States, Ricoh says its certified personnel have hands-on experience with the processing of legal documents, which led the firm to develop the new solution.
The Legal MFP enables users to scan directly to legal document-management systems, including iManage, WorldDox, and OpenText. Ricoh says this approach streamlines previously disjointed processes in order to minimize the number of scanning steps by end-users, and also eliminates data-entry redundancy, such as entering log-in credentials, client-matter numbers, etc. The solution also automatically splits document files to court-specified file-size limits and converts them into the appropriate file format.

Ricoh to Support iCONECT-XERA Platform for Legal Sector
On January 30th, Ricoh Americas announced an agreement under which it’ll be offering partner iCONECT Development’s iCONECT-XERA platform to its clients.
iCONECT’s flagship software, iCONECT-XERA, is a private cloud-based document-review platform built for complex multi-party litigation projects. iCONECT-XERA is said to provide legal professionals with exceptional control and cost savings over the entire eDiscovery review process.
