Meet the Primera Trio, the World's Tiniest All-in-One Printer
January 8, 2015 – There’s mobile printing, then there’s the bring-it-with-you mobile printer. The latest addition to the mobile-printer category is the Primera Trio ($399.95), a color inkjet-based All-in-One with print, scan, and copy. Primera Technology of Plymouth, Minnesota, says it’s the world’s smallest and lightest portable printer among $399 or less portable color inkjet printers currently available in the United States. And, with dimensions of 11.4”W x 1.8”H x 6.5”D, and weighing just 2.8 lbs. (with battery), we don’t know of any All-in-One smaller than this.
Primera hasn’t yet released rated print speed, but print resolution is at 4,800 x 4,800 dpi, and it provides basic All-in-One functions: print, copy, and scan on up to 8.5″x14″ media; USB 2.0 port for direct connection, and scanning of documents into JPEG, PDF, PNG, TIFF, and Bitmap file formats. There’s a 10-sheet paper capacity, and scan and copy is one sheet at a time.
There’s also a standard external universal power adapter; a Lithium-ion battery and 12v vehicle adapter are optional. The All-in-One uses one dye-based black ink cartridge, and another cartridge containing cyan, yellow, and magenta inks.
