New Canon PIXMA MX472 Fits Tight Spaces, Provides Mobile Print & Scan, Cloud Connectivity
January 5, 2015 – Canon U.S.A. is launching its newest PIXMA color inkjet All-in-One, the PIXMA MX472 ($99.99 estimated retail price), which it says features a compact design that’s 30-percent smaller than its predecessor, the PIXMA MX472 printer. Designed for home offices, it features wireless connectivity and a 30-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), borderless printing, fax, and print speeds of approximately 8.8 (black)/4.4 (color) ppm. It uses dye-based cyan, magenta, and yellow (CYM) ink for producing more vivid colors, and black pigment ink for sharper text, and a two ink-cartridge system: one CYM cartridge, and one black cartridge.
The PIXMA Printing Solutions (PPS) application enables direct access to cloud-based document- and image-sharing and storage Web sites through PIXMA Cloud Link. From the PIXMA MX472, users can print and scan images and documents from popular online social platforms and services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox, Evernote, Creative Park, and Creative Park Premium, along with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. With PPS, users can also check ink-model number information, online printer user manuals, and other printer information. (Note that an an Internet connection is required, and the PIXMA Printing Solutions (“PPS”) app, which is available for free at the App Store and Google Play.
Also includes is an Access Point Mode. With this feature, users can connect their compatible mobile device to the printer directly through Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for an external wireless access point, such as a router. Users can also share scanned documents and photos by scanning data directly to email, or attaching scanned data to a draft email in their Web mail account.
