OKI Reports Favorable Sales Growth for its Printer Business, Raises Forecast for its Full Year
OKI Electric company of Tokyo reported financial results for its fiscal half-year (April to September 2014), with net sales of 228.8 billion yen, up 12.2 percent, while net income rose 8.5 billion yen to 10.8 billion, both versus its fiscal half-year a year ago.
OKI also raised its forecast for its entire fiscal year. It’s now forecasting net sales of 535 billion yen, an increase of 10 percent versus the net sales of 525 billion yen it had previously forecast, and net income of 21 billion yen, up 3.5 percent from the 17 billion yen it had previously forecast. The firm says it’s achieved steady progress in its info-telecomm business, including favorable sales of its ATMs overseas, including in China, while sales of its printers and MFPs for office, professional, and high-end printing are favorable. For its printer/MFP business, OKI is now also forecasting net sales of 130 billion yen for its entire fiscal year, up from the 128 billion yen in net sales it had previously forecast.
