Memjet reports that partner Colordyne Technologies has launched its CDT 3600 Series of digital print systems as a full-featured process color digital label and tag production system with an enhanced web-handling system, and powered by Memjet page-wide color inkjet technology.

Memjet says the new CDT 3600 Series’ web-handling system provides flexibility and modularity, supporting custom configurations and upgradeability across all the major assemblies. Key to the solution is a new print engine, which provides speeds up to 225 feet per minute (69 meters per minute) at full-color resolutions with up to 1,600 x 1,375 dpi resolution. It also says the system provides broad web-substrate support and management through a partnership with PCMC to provide the Servo Drive system; LasX, a provider of laser die-cutting solutions; and the new Aspen print engine featuring Memjet Waterfall Technology.

According to the firm, the key benefit for converters is the ability to update the core sub-assemblies as customer requirements change, or new technology becomes available. The system also brings enhanced print quality; increased resolution of 1,600 x 1,375 dpi; reduced RIP (raster image process) times; print speeds up to 225 feet per min (69 meters per min); and a more user-friendly user interface.

“Our goal with the CDT 3600 was to develop a press system built on a platform co-developed using the best technologies available, but provide an ongoing upgrade path for our customer so new modules can cost effectively be provided in the future,” commented Gary Falconbridge, CEO and president of Colordyne Technologies. “With over 20-years development experience in the market, we listened to our clients, and we think this new press will hit the mark in offering increased productivity through a powerful feature set and providing a market leading total cost of ownership.”

“Colordyne is one of the market innovators and we’re ecstatic to see the new CDT 3600 become available to high-volume label converters leveraging the most recently available Aspen print engine from Memjet,” commented Judd Quimby, vice president of business development at Memjet. “This digital web press is by far the most technologically advanced, offering speed, performance, ease-of-use benefits far beyond flexo presses.”
