Canon Wins Printer-Consumables Patent-Infringement Lawsuit Against Three Companies
Canon Inc. reports that it’s successfully concluded its patent-infringement lawsuits against Green Project, Inc., Do It Wiser LLC (which also does business under the name Image Toner), and Acecom, Inc. – San Antonio (which does business under the name InkSell.com), in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The lawsuit involved alleged patent infringement of certain toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units sold by these companies for use with Canon and Hewlett-Packard laser printers.
To resolve the lawsuits, Green Project, Do It Wiser, and Acecom have stipulated to consent judgments and permanent injunctions from the Southern District of New York, which prohibit the companies from making, using, selling, and offering for sale in the United States, and from importing into the United States, the toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units that Canon accused them of infringing upon its U.S. Patent Nos. 8,135,304, 8,280,278, 8,369,744, 8,433,219, 8,437,669, 8,494,411, 8,565,640, 8,630,564, 8,676,085, 8,676,090, 8,682,215, and 8,688,008.
