Samsung MFPs Now Compatible with ECM’s Captiva Content-Management Solution
Samsung Electronics America’s Enterprise Business Division reports that it’s partnered with EMC Information Intelligence Group to bring electronic content-management capabilities, to its MFP family. Designed to increase workplace efficiency, Samsung has added compatibility with EMC Captiva ISIS ECM (Electronic Content Management) Drivers to its SCX-5935FN, SCX-5835FN, and M4580FX MFPs.
EMC Captiva ISIS and Captiva Cloud Capture technologies enable users to convert hardcopy documents into application-ready information; EMC Captiva uses the ISIS (Image and Scanner Interface Specification) industry standard together with EMC PixTools desktop-capture software development toolkits (SDK) and EMC Cloud Capture Toolkit browser-based capture software to provide consistent and reliable functionality for scanners and imaging applications. The ISIS Drivers are based on software components that perform specific functions such as image acquisition, file conversion, and read/write commands.
“As enterprises move capturing of business-critical documents to their branch offices, we have seen an increasing demand for MFPs in the market. Users are especially interested in solutions which are easy to use and deploy while offering a high degree of software and hardware compatibility,” commented Karthik Manimozhi, channel chief for EMC Information Intelligence Group.
“By partnering with EMC, Samsung is unlocking the potential for our print customers to leverage document management functionality to enhance efficiency and profitability,” said Matt Smith, vice president of sales and marketing of printing solutions for Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “Adding support for electronic content-management gives us the ability to help companies of all sizes more effectively manage their print resources, which are an integral part of delivering an enhanced business experience.”
